Help with choosing apartment in Vienna, please

Hi

I%26#39;m hoping that a resident of Vienna can help me with choosing an apartment for my upcoming stay in April.

I have a choice of an apartment in the 3rd district (Löwengasse 2b/1, 1030 Wien) for 537,90 Euro and another in the 14. district (Matzingerstrasse 10,1140 Wien, Penzing) for 300 Euro.

Both links provided

I don%26#39;t mind either price as long as the area is safe, friendly and well-linked to the centre. Any info on what kind of areas they are is appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all, I do not assess the price quoted, I only describe the neighborhood and its strategical location in Vienna.

The apartment in 1030 Wien (=3rd Viennese district|Native name: Landstrasse) would be my choice as it is much closer to the centre. Actually, I would consider that area centrally either, but in Vienna we usually refer to the 1st district (1010 Wien) if we speak about the %26quot;city centre%26quot;. From that location you could even walk to the %26quot;city centre%26quot;. Wien-Mitte Station, a major interchange point between regional and urban rail as well as subway lines U3 and U4, is located 500m apart. You are in the vicinity of a few federal ministries and the famous Hundertwassserhaus.

The apartment in 1140 Wien (=14th Viennese district|Native name: Penzing)is relatively far away from the %26quot;city centre%26quot;. Penzing is basically a good and solid residential district but rather calm. Subway Station: %26quot;Hütteldorfer Strasse%26quot; which is served by line U3 is only 250m apart, hence fast transportation would not be a problem at all.

Thanks for your reply. I think I%26#39;ll go for the Landstrasse bezirk even if it%26#39;s a bit more expensive just so we don%26#39;t have to brave public transport at night.

Good call!
