Harfenwirt Hotel,..leaving at the weekend.

I am so confused....we booked a last minute trip, leaving at the weeend and I have only just discovered the forum and the terrible reviews of the hotel Harfenwirt .I had read the reviews which seemed o.k and now I am beginning to dread our holiday. I am so sorry to have read this forum...can anyone shine a little light on th subject or should we put up and shut up or just ask for an upgrade !!!

There have been many recent favourable TA reviews of Hotel Harfenwirt so obviously some guests have been happy enough.Certainly seems that Herbert the owner is an oddball but you don%26#39;t have to have much face2face with him.And whatever the hotel is like it won%26#39;t affect the resort or the skiing. If it was me I would wait to see the room you have been allocated when you check in and if it is one of the old drab ones offer to pay for an upgrade to one in the new wing.

Food.It%26#39;s mainly the breakfasts which disappoint as the 4 course dinner gets some complimentary comments. We stayed in the even worse Hotel Vicky in Niederau.Bad bad choice and it wasn%26#39;t even an allocated on arrival hotel. The food was truly appalling and nobody describes the food at the Harfenwirt like that. And nobody has said that Harfenwirt isn%26#39;t clean.Vicky was disgusting.

We made the decision to pay to get the best we could out of our holiday rather than be thoroughly miserable and ate all our meals out in the village or in the mountain huts.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply and we will certainly take your comments on board. We have no problem asking and paying for an upgrade and we are also aware that we are lucky to get this holiday at the lastminute-no pun intended !!

Thanks again.
