Hello All,
According to the ferry website, that runs from St. Gilgen to St Wolfgang, it will not be operating in the first week of April, so is the only option by bus? How long usually does a roundtrip from Salzburg to these cities take?
I have read that the musicians that perform at the mirabell garden are more accomplished that the ones in the Fotress. Can anyone recommend an ideal venue for a concert?
Warmly,
M

In order to reach St. Wolfgang from Salzburg you need to take regioanl bus #150 to Strobl, where you have to transfer to another bus to St. Wolfgang.

Regarding the concert it depends on how serious you want the music to be. The fortress concert; Mozart Dinner Concert at St Peters and the Mirabel concerts are very much designed for tourists with light pieces of music. They are no less enjoyable for this. I have attended the fortress and the St peters one and found the St Peters concert much more enjoyable. The musicians and singers engage with the audience more than they do at the fortress (there are no singers at the fortress). I%26#39;m sorry I can%26#39;t comment on the Mirabel concert. If you wanted something more highbrow you could visit this website:
www2.salzburg.info/veranstaltungen_262.htm
You enter the dates that you will be in Salzburg; refine the search to find music and it will list all the concerts playing during your stay.

Hi
We have enjoyed concerts at the Fortress(Xmas) and St Peters and two at the Mirabell. We have taken dinner also with each of the concerts, I agree with Liz that St Peters is enjoyable with the singers and the meal was excellent. One advantage of the Mirabell is that it has a widely varying programme of composers, music and performers. To attend a concert at the Mirabell it is advisable to check the website, www.salzburger-schlosskonzerte.at choosing forthcoming events and you can then select which type of music you prefer. We can highly recommend the Salzburger Solisten which has the musical director, Luz Leskowitz, playing the violin supported by second violin, viola and cello.Enjoy whatever you choose - its a truly wonderful experience.
