Hello,
We will be traveling by car in mid-April from Lauterbrunnen to Garmisch. We are not sure if we will be able to get to Garmisch before dark (might make stops along the way) and would love recommendations as to where might be a great place to stay. We love bed and breakfasts and small hotels, and they do not have to be fancy, just clean with a private bathroom.
We were not sure if at this time of year we needed to book in advance or not?

Check to see if your travel is during thre Easter holiday time- if you travel at a time other than that probably no need for a reservation-

nice place is the Schrofenstein in the town of Landeck- You probably pass by this way - it is west of Imst on the major roadway.
This is a family owned and managed hotel for many years- clean with a good restaurant. parking also
