Hello,
I am staying at the NH Danube City hotel, by the UN center, in April and I was was wondering if anyone might be able to recommend a good restaurant. Not looking for an expensive restaurant...just solid quality food.
Thanks!

It%26#39;s not really a good area for restaurants. Far better to use the underground you mentioned in your other post for a quick connection to the centre and a vast choice of restaurants.

While several other hotels are in this area it suffers from dining options other than to eat in the hotel which does not usually mean economic or good food.
As Norman advises you should try to eat in the city center where you have many and better choice.
You probably trade a cheaper room price for convenience for dining and sightseeing.
A McDonalds is on the same street as the hotel in the direction away from the city center. Not recommended.
If you do not mind a walk and weather is good , I can suggest the Strand Cafe on a body of water toward the city center.
If you walk toward the city center on the street in front of the hotel, you will quickly come to this water. Simply turn left and walk along a paved walking path along the water. In about 150- 200 metres you will see this cafe. Good midday and inexpensive menu.
www.strandcafe.wien.at
site has a map and menu.
Also nice to watch the sailing activity on the water. Many , me included learned to sail there.

Thank you both for taking the time to respond! That helps me a lot. I will just make sure that we eat in the city centre before getting home and if its a nice day I will end up at McDonalds...Ha! Just kidding...we will try the cafe that you mentioned. :)
Thanks

I also can recommend the strand café , I was there quite often. Their speciality is spareribs and fish from the charcole grill. U1 Alte Donau and walk 10 Minutes.
