Hi,
We have an early Sunday morning flight out of VIE. There do not appear to be very many hotels near airport? Do the trains run 24 hours from Vienna to airport? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It all depens on where you stay.
If you have a flight within Europe, no need to be at the airport more than one hour in advance.
The first train on a Sunday morning start from Wien Mitte/Landstraße station at 4:32, arrival at the airport at 4:57.
Best is to check the timetable query or get a taxi (which will be at the airport quite fast in an early Sunday morning).

If you stay close to the railway line covering the stations Wien-Praterstern, Wien-Mitte, Wien-Rennweg it would not be a problem at all to get to the airport on a train at that time. But I would rather seek an attractive hotel - regardless of location - that you choose because you like it and prereserve a taxi transfer [29€] for a minimum of hassle.

Or you could stay near the Morzinplatz and take the first bus to the airport (departs 5am, arrives at the airport at 5.20am, cost one way 6eur per person, hold for luggage under the bus). That%26#39;s what I do when I have an early-morning European flight to catch. Nearby hotels include the Marc Aurel on the Marc Aurel Strasse (just up the hill from the bus stop) or the Hotel Alma just behind the Schwedenplatz, two longish level blocks from the Morzinplatz, or Hotel Capricorno, one block further along the Schwedenplatz. Of the three, I prefer Alma (formerly Pension Christina but now renovated within an inch of its life!)
If you are taking an intercontinental flight and need to be at the airport 2 hrs before departure I would agree a pre-booked taxi is worth the extra money.

Thanks all.
Here are the specifics.
Leaving VIE at 6:40am for Amsterdam. Connecting on to Chicago. WIll that be the 1 hour early requirement, or the 2 hour?
Thanks
