Salzburg to Salzkammergut day trips

Hi everyone

I need your advice on a day trip, travelling from Salzburg to Salzkammergut (Fuschl Am See, St. Gilgen, Lake Wolfgang, St. Wolfgang.

How much would it cost to get a schauffered private car / taxi to drive us to that area and back to Salzburg for a full day trip? We are 4 people by the way.

Yikes! Why would you pay for that when you can get there on the bus in about half an hour? Better still hire a car and drive around yourself. There are also organised tours to the Salzkammergut run by Panoramatours. Any of these options would be cheaper than getting a chauffeured ride.

I will stay in Salzburg in July and I have planned this day trip:

you buy a combined ticket. The price is Euro 47,60 per person. With this you can go from Salzburg to St. Gilgen by bus - then from St. Gilgen to Schafbergbahn by boat - after this with the railway Schafbergbahn up and down to the mountain called Schafberg - return by boat to St. Gilgen and by bus to Salzburg.

You get the tickets in the bus in Salzburg Hbf.
