Affordable hotel with real two-person bed?

Hi all,

In April, I%26#39;m taking my girlfriend on a surprise weekend trip to Vienna and I%26#39;ve been looking for a nice but affordable hotel or pension (prices around 100 euros per night or less).

However, none of the hotels I%26#39;ve looked at on the internet appear to offer proper two-person beds in their double rooms. Instead, they all apparently have two single beds pushed together, with separate mattresses, sheets and blankets. We tend to sleep snuggled up together, so ideally I%26#39;d like to find a hotel that offers a nice large bed for the two of us. Is there anyone who%26#39;d be able to recommend a hotel/pension that has that?

Thanks in advance!

The Viennese style is definitely to have separate duvets and mattresses so you may struggle at your price point. Some of the hotels that belong to American chains (Marriott etc) have the type of bed you seek, but most are too expensive.

I can only suggest you phone any hotel you%26#39;re interested in to ask if they%26#39;ve any rooms with king size beds. Or maybe someone will catch this thread who%26#39;s stayed at such a hotel within your budget.

LOL!! Welcome to Europe. Don%26#39;t worry you%26#39;ll get used to the beds being pushed together soon enough. (:

Oh, you are from Europe. I guess if I go to the Netherlands they will have a queen or king sized bed there. Good to know. (: They don%26#39;t seem too popular anywhere near Vienna and Prague.

Some major chain hotels have a single double /King bed - example the various hiltons ( 3 ) and I believe the Intercontinental too.

Some find their rates high but often they offer weekend specials

could try LeMeridien too
