Kaprun - Summer

Hi Everyone,

Am planning on going to Kaprun in July to ski in the Glacier as well as other things.

Was looking for any information anyone has on this location, including the range of runs in the Glacier, and if its worth skiing there at that time of year.

Perhaps others can provide more information - but I have been there 2 times- each in summer do not remember exact time July? snow conditions ok early in the morning - quickly turnesd to a wet and not good mess- not good after noon.

runs were limited to higher elevations of course and mostly easier terrain-

not much of a value to me.

I agree with Vertical. Kitzsteinhorn glacier fun, because it%26#39;s snow in the summer. But for skiing, bring a wet suit.

we stayed there a few years ago tried summer skiing the kids loved it but I found it pretty boring just a few drags open on the top, I did find the Ski bike great fun but it was only for a few hours, there are plenty of other activities to do. Parachuting,canyoning, white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking cycling, swiming in the lake at Zell, visiting the dams, Ice caves and castle at werfen, waterfall at Kimml, and of course relaxing in the sun with a beer. Whatever you decide you will have a nice time there

Thanks for your responses. Have decided to go as Graham.rob has made it sound like a great summer destination even if the skiing wont be great. Thanks.
