Hi- I travelled to Salzburg on flight only last September. I am wanting to book my apartment for July or September this year but I cannot find a flight from Manchester. Last year I flew with Thomsonfly but they have no flights on sale yet.
Does anyone know when they go on sale.
I have tried other airlines but they stop off and it takes about 7 hours to get there and is expensive.
Thank you in anticipation

Hello,
Like you we%26#39;ve used Thomsonfly to fly to Salzburg in the past. We used to go from Coventry. They then pulled out of Coventry and we were transferred to Manchester. I can%26#39;t help but wonder if they%26#39;re not flying to Salzburg beyond the ski season this year as the flights should, in my opinion, have been advertised by now. We are going on Ryanair from Stansted. We%26#39;ve always found this service to be good, it%26#39;s just that Coventry was more convenient for us until it closed. Have a look on the Ryanair website. The flight time is under two hours:

Hi Liz - thanks for your reply. I was thinking the same that they had pulled out of Manchester this year. Last year I booked our flight on the 14th February. I will have a look at Ryanair.
Many thanks

Hi - I%26#39;m in a similar situation and was a little confused as the Salzburg airport site still mentions Thomson flights from Manchester but I%26#39;ve come to the conclusion that they are for package holidays only and they are not offering through Thomsonfly during the summer. Curiously, you can book flight only eg with Inghams but it is certainly not low cost. The other option is to fly to Munich and drive down. If you are fairly flexible on dates you can sometimes find Lufthansa flights for a reasonable price. For us, this is marginally better than the trip to Stansted.

I think the Manchester flights will continue until April as this is the ski-season but we could find nothing advertised after then. There are daily flights to Salzburg from Gatwick too, which were quite good prices, but for us that%26#39;s a grim journey so we%26#39;re sticking with Stansted. I have a horror of those finishing. If that ever happens we just might have to move to Salzburg :-)
Flights from Gatwick are by British Airways.
