My son is planning to do his Junior year abroad at the University in Graz. I am looking for anyone who has spent time there and can give us a feeling for the social life in the city. He is a very outgoing person and has no problem making friends but wants to make sure that there is going to be a fun environment for students...

Graz is basically a city dedicated to education as it is the home of universities and colleges. The %26#39;Technical University of Graz (TU Graz)%26#39; and the %26#39;FH Joanneum%26#39; have a very good reputation nationwide. Because of the great number of students you would find an active nightlife scene considering the needs of students (cheap beer etc.). But in the end it is a relatively small cities compared to Vienna and most American cities. I live in Vienna and would probably be bored in Graz as I am used to the more diversified nightlife of Vienna.
