Can taxi in Vienna fit 5 persons?

Taxi if efficient and economy for my group of 5 to travel in short distance.We%26#39;re asian and pretty tiny, thanks for any answers :-)

I think that the limit is 4 passengers. Three in the back and one next to the driver. I also believe that it is not allowed to take more than four people in a regular car. Instead you could hail or call for a van taxi. But why do you wanna take taxis in a city where you will find an extensive and reliable public transportation network of buses, trams and five subway lines. If you still contemplate taxi transportation, you should bear in mind the relatively high costs (although you will split the costs making it cheaper each person).

You%26#39;re absolutely right! Thanks a bunch! As i%26#39;ve done study for Vienna transportation map.tram and metro are the best 2 to travel in Vienna.It%26#39;s only that my group consists of another 4 elderlies who refused to walk longer than 500 meters from one place to another (seriously)But to take 2 taxis surely is rediculous...i think i%26#39;ll try to manipulate them to walk + board tram/bus to make them feel more comfortable.

All buses and many trams are low-floor meaning you don%26#39;t have to climb steep steps.

Regarding (regular) taxi cabs I would like to add that there are only three safety belts in the back of the car, hence the cab driver (and you too) would eventually get problems if police oberves that one of you or all of you aren%26#39;t buckled up.

Normal cars only seat the driver and four passengers. Extra passengers are illegal and the driver can be heavily fined, so I assume they would refuse.

However, there are some taxis with more seats and if you order a taxi by phone and indicate you%26#39;re 5, it will be absolutely no problem. You shouldn%26#39;t rely on finding one of those on the street when you need it.
