Locker at Salzburg Hbf for over 24 hours

I plan to stay in Salzburg from 3 pm till 7 pm next day. I reserve for a room in Pension Elisabeth. I just think to leave the luggage at HBF. Is this pension far from HBF? I am not sure if we leave the luggage after 24 hours, do we need to come back to HBF before time and refill it?

As I checked, the deposite price is 3.5 euro/24 hours

Thank you so much

That%26#39;s a good question. I believe that the description means that the minimum time you pay for is 24 hours. If you want to use it longer than 24 hours, it should not be a problem. You just have to pay for the new day(s). I can%26#39;t believe that the locker is automatically released when 24 hours have elapsed. I will check next time I enter a train station because I also want to know it!

From the description on the Austrian Railway internet site it appears that 24 hours is indeed the maximum storage time. I believe I once read that after 24 hours they have the right to empty the locker. Of course, they won%26#39;t throw your luggage away but it will become rather stressful to get it back then.

I have always wondered this as well - what happens at that magical 24 hour mark? Do they just pop open? :) I think there are some instructions on the inside of the locker, usually in English as well (at least there are on the Czech ones - Austrian ones should be similar). If there is a manned left luggage office, I would leave it there instead if you are planning to leave it for an extended period, but note their opening hours.

I just went to a railway station and checked the terms and conditions posted next to the lockers area.

The standard rental time is 24 hours. If you exceed this by not more than another 24 hours, you%26#39;ll still be able to open the locker and get your luggage back after paying a supplement charge.

However, after a total of 48 hours (more than 24 hours excess of the standard rental time), your luggage will be taken to a manned storage where it will be kept for you at the same daily tariff that is charged for the locker.

By the way, according to article 58.4 of the terms and conditions, you may be charged 37,- Euros if you put bad smelling stuff in the locker! I very much doubt that this is actually enforced ;-)
