Luggage Lockers

I am heading to Vienna for several days and have two trips planned outside the city for which I would perfer to travel with a smaller bag. Does anyone know if the major train stations in Vienna have lockers big enough for large suitcases, how much they cost, and how long you can use one?

Thanks for that great link. Looks like I will have no problems.

Since you are in Vienna can I pick your brain about one more thing....would you take a day trip to Budapest or Prague?

|||

Frankly no, but if it is the only chance for you to see one of these places in a long time....probably yes. The train ride to Budapest takes three hours, to Prague at least four hours (depending on train chosen). If I must make a decision, I%26#39;d go for Budapest as it is just closer and more often to reach.

Train Vienna %26gt; Budapest

05:25 %26gt; 08:23 (2:58) EC43 Fare: 34€ (flexible)

Train Budapest %26gt; Vienna:

19:10 %26gt; 22:08 (2:58) EC40 Fare: 34€ (flexible)

Thanks. I will be spending about ten days total in vienna/ Wachau and have about 2 1/2 for a side trip. I have not been prague or budapest so would like to see one or the other. Sounds like Budapest is easier

|||

Don%26#39;t forget to sample the delicious withe wine that ripens in the Wachau region.

|||

The luggage storage looks very good but are they available 24/7? Because I want to drop a bag an noon (13:00) and take it back at 02:00 in the morning.

They are machines... not manned. You put the luggage in the locker, close the door, throw the amount which is shown on the display into the machine and get a paper ticket.

When you come back put the paper ticket into the machine and your locker will open.

Thanks a lot. So, there won%26#39;t be a problem to pick it up any time during the night, that%26#39;s great.

Thanks again.
