salzburg in september

i plan to visit salzburg for about 12 days in mid-september. i hope its a good time to go to see salzburg, the sights, the lakes and the mountains especially berchtesgaden. or is it not so good will it rain a lot and foggy weather so you can%26#39;t see the lakes and mountains. if so i could change the trip to another time. thanks

September is basically a good month to visit the area, but weather never acts like the statistics say. As you will have 12 days, you can still rearrange your activities in case of incooperative weather conditions.

Salzburg weather is impossible to predict. We went mid september last year and had great weather. We%26#39;ve had horrendous rain and hot, clear weather in June. We%26#39;ve had snow in May and fantastic clear skies in December. It really is a weather lottery. On the whole we%26#39;ve had good weather in September. Sorry I know that%26#39;s no help to you but with twelve days you should get some lovely days. The trees are gorgeous at that time and it isn%26#39;t so busy. We went to Berchtesgaden last September and walked in the mountains. Great sunshine and lovely views the whole time.

thank you both - much appreciated. i%26#39;m nervous because last september i visited nuremburg and the weather was cold and cloudy and in the morning rainy. this bad weather went on for almost 2 weeks.
