Salzburg to Interlaken, Swiss

Can anyone suggest the best route from Salzburg to interlaken, Swiss.

I%26#39;m thinking of a early morning train.

1. Do I need to make a early reservation for the train?

2. Use a europe train pass would be cheaper than purchasing ticket at the station ?

Whether a pass makes sense needs to be calculated and can turn out as a nerving process. Mostly they do not! It is not necessary to carry out any reservation. Tickets are only for transportation and do not automatically include a seat (as with airlines) meaning you occupy a vacant seat of your choice upon boarding. If you fear not getting a seat of your choice (e.g. window seat), you can additionally reserve seats for 3€ each. But basically it is not recommendabe except a group travels or you insist of a certain seat.

You can buy the ticket just before you go from the ticket counter (the ticket machines do only have tickets for travel inside of Austria).

It%26#39;s not possible to find the price online... but would be somewhat between € 100-120, oneway.

You can call the austrian railways *43 5 1717 or send them an e-mail (they usually answer within some days): service@pv.oebb.at
