Me and my friend will be making a one day stop over in Vienna this June, and therefore was wondering what sites are not to be missed?
I am not particularly interested about going to any operas/ballets etc. More interested in sporting architecture, religous architecture and natural sites.
Any recommendations would be welcome as we would like to make the most out of our short stop.
Thankyou
Stuart

As this is a very common question please visit the website of the Vienna Tourism Board.

Regarding religious architecture I recommend to visit Vienna%26#39;s most famous cathedral, the St. Stephen%26#39;s Cathedral right in the city centre. I would also contemplate the Votivkirche and the Jesuitenkirche.

Sporting architecture - the Ernst-Happel-Stadion or if you are really fanatical also Rapid Wien just off Linzerstrasse, but they are at opposite ends of the city so one day just wouldn%26#39;t be enough to see them both. As for natural sites- the Danube is probably the most noted natural site in central Vienna.
I would just stick with St. Stephen%26#39;s Cathedral and the imperial arcitecture in the centre.
